I have always been fascinated by athleticism of animals. Growing up with horses, watching horses work on a ranch, the power of race horses and the gentleness of horses through therapy. Also, by the animals who live in extreme environments of cold and heat, and terrain that seems nearly impossible to survive.
Do you ever feel like you’re trying to hang on?
Only slipping on the rough terrain?
Impossible to stand up?
Unable to go forward?
I still remember years and years ago a preacher teaching on Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
No matter what the terrain looks like, if I try to do it on my own, I’ll likely be as mentioned above; stuck, slipping, trying to hang on.
The LORD is my strength.
Then HE makes my feel like the feet of a deer.
To be resilient, and have grace and vigor.
HE enables me to tread on the heights.
The “heights” look different for all of us. Our circumstances and rough, scary, unknown terrain happens all throughout our lives.
Don’t try to go at it alone.
Rely on the LORD, his strength.
He enables us to tread, and not only the flat, but on the heights.
The highest places. The ones that seem impossible.
HIS strength. Not our own.
